Data security is a feature that allows you to establish "rights" or assign "privileges" to certain users. An example of data security is when you attempt to edit a table of financial data, a user logon box appears asking you to enter your user name and password. If you enter the correct information, then you have "rights" to edit that table of data; otherwise, you do not - and you will not be allowed to edit the data in that table.
You cannot implement or modify data security in VIP Workshop with the exception of assigning passwords to parts. However, VIP Workshop will support any data security already established by another data source; data security rules are set at the ODBC level. Contact the ODBC vendor for more information.
